CASE STUDY #10

CASE STUDY #10

M Pumps delivers several vane pumps for a Refinery in Spain:

This refinery needed a completely new in line and on line sampling integration. The scope of this sampling units is to have in real time complete information on parameters such as , viscosity , density, octane content , temperature, etc. in order to have the most accurate and quality product.
Pumps are required to take the liquid from the production vessel and return it back to it. Suction and discharge conditions may vary substantially an system pressures too. In this case duty conditions were ranging:

  • Liquid: Lube oil
  • S.g.: from 794 to 870 kg/m3
  • Viscosity: from 3,4 to 11 cps
  • Temperature: from 50°C to 80°C
  • Flow ranges from 320 to 750 l/h
  • Discharge pressures from 3,5 to 21 bar
EPC in charge of the project contacted us to supply this pumps, their main concern was personal and plant safety. Our VANE pumps suits perfectly the application as are sealless, can work against high head and have low flows without any kind of by pass, are volumetric so can be VFD controlled if required, and are pressure self adjustable
We supplied:
  • 6 off VB 08 SS 316 single stage for pressure up to 8 bar
  • 2 off VB 08 2/S SS 316 two stage for pressures up to 12 bar
  • 4 off VB 06 2/S SS 316 two stage for pressures up to 12 bar
  • 2 off VM 15 3/S SS 316 three stage for pressures up to 22 bar
These comparative advantages are the prime reasons for clients to consider mag. drive pumps against mechanical seal fitted pumps.

M Pumps deliver world‐leading expertise in the design, application and manufacture of Magnetically Driven Pumps and associated equipment to API 685, ISO 2858, ANSI B73.3 and ASME for the Oil and Gas, Offshore, Petrochemical, Chemicals, Nuclear, Research Institutes, Pharmaceutical, Electronic and the General industry.
